[미국] 미시간주 공설 급수 보호 위해 보조금 지원

공설 급수 보호를 강화하기 위한 지속적인 노력의 일환으로 미시간(Michigan)주 환경질부는 주 전역 40개 이상 지역사회에 보조금을 지원하고 있다. 매칭 기금은 수원 보호 구역에 있는 공공 용수 시스템 관리를 원활히 하기 위해 더 많은 재정 지원을 필요로 한다.

 
수원 보호 보조금 프로그램의 일환으로 기금을 받은 지역사회는 이전의 환경 문제 또는 지하 저장 탱크 유출과 같은 지역의 잠재적인 오염원을 확인하고 그들의 물 공급을 보호하기 위한 관리 전략 및 교육적 활동을 시행하기 위해 그들의 우물에 물을 기부하는 지역을 정할 것이다.

NEARLY $400,000 IN GRANTS AWARDED TO COMMUNITY WATER SYSTEMS IN MICHIGAN

As part of ongoing efforts to enhance protection of public water supplies, the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality is giving grant funding to more than 40 communities across the state. The matching funds are much needed financial assistance to facilitate management of a public water system in a source water protection area.

 
As part of the Source Water Protection Grant Program, communities receiving the funds will define the area contributing water to their wells, identify potential contaminants within that area such as prior environmental issues or leaking underground storage tanks, and implement management strategies and educational activities to protect their water supply.

The next round of applications will be solicited from public water supply systems in May 2018.
