[말레이시아] 베올리아워터, 쿠알라룸푸르에 아·태지역 본부 설립

물과 하·폐수 처리를 위한 선도적인 솔루션 제공업체인 베올리아 워터 테크놀러지(Veolia Water Technologies)는 말레이시아 쿠알라룸푸르에 지역 본부를 설립했다.

싱가포르에서의 움직임은 증가하는 인력을 수용하고 선도적인 지역 산업 회사 및 지방 정부 당국과의 혁신적인 파트너십을 강화하기 위해서다.

2018년에 베올리아 워터 테크놀로지(Veolia Water Technologies)의 아시아 태평양 사업은 의미있게 성장하여 2018년 글로벌 매출에 15%를 기여했다. 또한 베올리아의 1,100명의 아시아 태평양 지역 직원 중 12∼15%는 말레이시아에 있으며 쿠알라룸푸르 사무소에 핵심 관리 역할을 맡고 있다.

베올리아 워터 테크놀로지(Veolia Water Technologies) 아시아 태평양 사업부의 CEO인 프레데릭 테리(Frederic Thery)는 "안정적인 인프라와 동남아시아 중심의 위치로 쿠알라룸푸르는 아태지역본부의 전략적 입지가 되었다"라면서 "말레이시아의 강력한 다국어 및 다문화 지역의 재능과 함께 이 지역 전역의 각국 고유의 요구를 관리할 수 있는 우위, 속도 및 근접성을 제공하게 될 것이다"라고 말했다.

새로운 사무실 공간은 베올리아 워터 테크놀로지(Veolia Water Technologies)가 이 지역에서의 입지를 더욱 발전시키고, 시장 성장을 포착하고, 유연한 기술 범위로 발자취를 넓히는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. 

이 회사는 쿠알라룸푸르 사무소에서 능력있는 팀을 지속적으로 성장시키고 구축하여 동질화 된 우수한 서비스를 제공할 계획이다. 베올리아는 또한 이 지역 대학에 수도 및 하·폐수 관련 프로그램 개발에 대한 의견을 제공하고 학부생에게 기술 인턴십을 제공하여 지역 대학과 협력하고 있다.

또한 베올리아 워터 테크놀로지(Veolia Water Technologies)는 올해 말에 쿠알라룸푸르에 위치한 툰 라작 익스체인지(Tun Razak Exchange, TRX) 하수처리장 프로젝트의 최종 단계에 진입할 예정이다.

이 프로젝트는 동남아시아에서 최초로 완전 통합 상업용 물 재이용 프로젝트였으며 베올리아의 지속 가능한 발전을 위한 가장 중요한 세계적 기준 중 하나이다. 이러한 이니셔티브는 장기적으로 아시아 태평양에 남으려는 베올리아의 의도를 강조한다.

Veolia Water Technologies Establishes Asia Pacific Headquarters In Kuala Lumpur

Veolia Water Technologies, a leading solutions provider for both water and wastewater treatment, is pleased to announce the formation of its regional headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

The move from Singapore comes as a response to accommodate a growing workforce, and to strengthen innovative partnerships with leading, regional industrial companies and local government authorities.

Last year, Veolia Water Technologies’ Asia Pacific business grew in significance, contributing 15% to the company’s 2018 global revenue. Furthermore, 12 to 15% of Veolia’s 1,100 Asia Pacific employees are based in Malaysia, with key management roles anchored in the Kuala Lumpur office.

“With its reliable infrastructure and central location in Southeast Asia, Kuala Lumpur is a strategic location for our Asia Pacific headquarters,'' commented Frederic Thery, Chief Executive Officer of Veolia Water Technologies’ Asia Pacific division. “Coupled with the strong multilingual and multicultural local talent available in Malaysia, it will give us the edge, speed, and proximity to manage different countries’ unique needs across the region.”

The new office space reflects Veolia Water Technologies’ aim to further develop its presence in the region, to capture market growth, and to expand its footprint with a flexible range of technologies.

The company plans to continue growing and building a capable team in the Kuala Lumpur office to offer the quality service that it has become synonymous with. Veolia is also working with local universities by providing input for the development of water and wastewater-related degree programmes, and by offering technical internships to undergraduates.

Such initiatives underscore Veolia’s intentions to remain in the Asia Pacific in the long haul.
