[중국] 오션 선, 필리핀 최초 부유식 태양광 수력 발전 프로젝트 가동

 
노르웨이를 기반으로 하는 굴지의 태양광 에너지기업인 오션 선(Ocean Sun)이 건설한 필리핀 최초의 200kw 부유식 태양광 발전 프로젝트가 최근 가동에 들어갔다. 이 공동 프로젝트는 Ocean Sun과 GCL-SI 파트너십의 일환으로 진행됐다.

 

GCL-SI는 부유식 태양광 시설 건설에 사용되는 모듈을 공급하는 굴지의 기업이다. 이 시범 발전소는 필리핀 굴지의 재생에너지 기업 SN Aboitiz Power-Magat(SNAP)의 첫 번째 비수력 발전 프로젝트다.

 

GCL은 필리핀에서 최초로 200kw급 부유식 태양광 발전 프로젝트에 참여했다.

1천170헥타르(ha) 면적의 마갓(Magat) 저수지에 위치한 이 발전소는 와해적인 날씨 조건과 강력한 태풍을 견딜 수 있도록 특별히 설계됐다. 이 프로젝트는 10개월 동안 시범 테스트를 거친 후 SNAP의 Magat 수력발전의 주택 부하 요건을 먼저 충족시킬 예정이다.

여기에서 성공적인 결과가 나오면, SNAP이 프로젝트의 확장도 고려할 예정이다. 그 목적은 생산된 전력을 통해 자사의 재생에너지 역량을 향상시키고, 필리핀의 에너지 안보에 일조하는 것이다.

GCL-SI 회장 에릭 루오(Eric Luo)는 "자사는 세계적인 규모로 비용 효과적인 재생에너지를 개발하는 데 적극적으로 참여해왔다"라면서 "이 획기적인 필리핀 프로젝트에서 Ocean Sun과의 협력을 통해 자사의 국제 파트너들로부터 얻은 신뢰를 다시 한번 강조할 수 있게 됐다"고 말했다.

 

새로운 기회를 만드는 기술인 부유식 태양광 발전 시설(수역에 광발전 패널 설치)은 육지에 대한 수요가 높은 나라에서 장점으로 인식된다. 필리핀 에너지부 장관 알폰소 쿠시(Alfonso Cusi)는 부유식 태양광 발전의 잠재력이 전력 수요가 1만1천MW를 돌파한 필리핀에 매우 필요한 에너지 공급 증진을 제공할 것이라고 강조했다.

 

상하이 SNEC에서 계약을 체결한 Ocean Sun과 GCL-SI는 부유식 PV 솔루션과 부유식 태양광 발전 시설에 필요한 PV 모듈을 개발하는 데 서로 힘을 모았다. GCL-SI는 고효율성 제품의 연구 및 개발을 더욱 강화하고, 필리핀에서 신속한 경제 성장과 점점 증가하는 재생에너지 수요를 지원할 태양광 에너지 발전소 건설 작업에서 Ocean Sun을 지원할 예정이다.

Floating Solar: Philippines Switches On It's First Hybrid Floating Photovoltaic Hydro Power Project  
 
 
SUZHOU, China, July 16, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- The Philippines first 200kw floating solar power project by Ocean Sun, a leading solar energy company based in Norway, was recently switched on.

 

The joint project is part of the partnership between Ocean Sun and GCL-SI, the leading provider of modules used for the construction of the floating solar facility. The pilot facility is the first non-hydro project of SN Aboitiz Power-Magat (SNAP), one of the Philippines' leading renewable energy companies.

 

Located in the 1,170-hectare Magat reservoir, the purpose-built facility has been designed to withstand disruptive weather conditions and strong typhoons. The project will go through a pilot test lasting for ten months, and will initially serve house load requirements of SNAP's Magat hydro. If successful, SNAP will look into scaling up the project so that the power generated may contribute to its renewable energy capacity and to the country's energy security.

As new opportunity-creating technology, floating solar facilities - the installation of photovoltaic panels on the body of water - are seen as the advantage for countries where land is in high demand. Alfonso Cusi, Secretary for the Department of Energy of the Philippines, noted that the potential of floating solar would provide a much-needed boost to the energy supply as the country demand for power reaches 11,000MW.

 

Through an agreement between Ocean Sun and GCL-SI at Shanghai SNEC, the two companies have co-operated on the development of PV modules for floating PV solutions and floating solar facilities. GCL-SI will further strengthen its research and development into high-efficiency products, supporting Ocean Sun for the construction of solar energy facilities to match the rapid economic growth and ever-increasing demand for renewable energy in the Philippines.
