METAWATER Receives Order for Ozone AOP System from NAGASE Group Company Nagase ChemteX

 

METAWATER Co., Ltd. (President: Kenji Yamaguchi, Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter "METAWATER") has received an order for an AOP (Advanced Oxidation Process) system that uses ozone technology from Nagase ChemteX Corporation (President: Satoru Fujii, Headquarters: Osaka City, Osaka; hereinafter "Nagase ChemteX"), which provides core manufacturing functions as a member of the NAGASE Group,*1 for Nagase ChemteX's Harima Plant (Tatsuno City, Hyogo).


This system will effectively decompose and treat persistent organic matter in wastewater with the strong oxidizing power of ozone and hydrogen peroxide, utilizing the ozone technology that we have cultivated in the field of waterworks and water treatment for various industries. And, it is also one of the largest ozone generators in Japan for industrial wastewater treatment.

 

Nagase ChemteX uses its wastewater treatment facility to purify the wastewater generated in the manufacturing process, and discharges it into rivers at a quality below the wastewater effluent standard. As part of its efforts to reduce environmental impact, Nagase ChemteX is improving and upgrading its wastewater treatment methods and facilities.

 

And, Nagase ChemteX decided to introduce this system in order to further contribute to environmental conservation and to achieve sustainable production activities, because it can both efficiently oxidize and decompose persistent organic matter and reduce COD (chemical oxygen demand), which is an indicator of water pollution, and Is expected to achieve treatment far below the effluent standard value.

 

Additionally, Nagase ChemteX previously processed wastewater that it was unable to fully purify as industrial waste. With this system, however, it will be able to purify this wastewater with its in-house wastewater treatment system. As such, it expects this system to contribute to reducing its impact on the environment by reducing the amount of waste.

 

Ozone technology, one of METAWATER's strengths, is used in the water supply sector for advanced treatment, such as the reduction of substances that impart bad smells and tastes to water and trihalomethane precursors. In the sewage and reclaimed water sector, it is used for odor removal, color removal, and disinfection, and in the industrial field, it is used for COD reduction and color removal from wastewater, as well as disinfection and oxidation in manufacturing processes.

 

METAWATER contributes to the reduction of environmental impact by applying these innovative water treatment technologies, including ozone technology, and aims to increase orders in the industrial field.
