[UAE] DEWA, 에너지·물 생산 능력 증가로 두바이 발전·인구증가에 보조 맞춰

두바이 수전력청(DEWA ; Dubai Electric and Water Authority)은 두바이 거주자 351만4천 명에게 최고 수준의 신뢰성, 가용성, 효율성 및 품질에 따라 전기 및 수도 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 이 숫자는 2040년까지 580만 명에 이를 것으로 예상된다. 

DEWA의 전기용량은 1만4천117메가와트(MW)에 달하고, 해수담수화 생산용량은 하루에 4억9천만 갤런에 도달했다. DEWA는 두바이의 에너지 및 물 수요 증가에 보조를 맞추고 있으며, 2050년까지 청정에너지원으로부터 두바이의 에너지 생산 능력의 100%를 제공하는 것을 목표로 하는 두바이의 ‘청정 에너지 전략 2050(Clean Energy Strategy 2050)’ 및 두바이의 ‘탄소중립 전략 2050(Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050)’에 따라 청정 및 재생에너지의 점유율을 높이려는 아랍에미레이트(UAE)의 노력에 핵심적인 역할을 하고 있다.

2031년까지 수요 예측 충족(Meeting demand forecasts until 2031)

DEWA의 HE 사이드 모하메드 알 타이어(HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer)  MD 겸 CEO는 “우리는 아랍에미리트(UAE)의 부통령이자 총리인 셰이크 모하메드 빈 라시드 알 막툼(Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum) 두바이 통치자의 비전에 따라 두바이의 거주, 일, 투자, 방문이 선호하는 목적지로써의 위치에 기여하는 발전된 인프라를 제공하기 위해 노력하고 있다”라고 말했다. 

알 타이어 CEO는 또한 “최고 수준의 가용성, 신뢰성, 효율성 및 품질에 따라 전기 및 수도 서비스에 대한 수요 증가를 충족하고 있다”라면서 “DEWA는 2031년까지의 수요 예측에 기초하여 에너지 및 물 기반 시설의 확장 계획을 개략적으로 설명했다”고 말했다. 

알 타이어 CEO는 특히 “앞으로 세대에게 더 밝고 지속 가능한 미래를 위한 현명한 리더십의 비전을 달성하기 위해 두바이의 깨끗하고 재생 가능한 에너지원을 다양화하는 선구적인 프로젝트를 지속적으로 시행할 것”이라고 강조했다.

모하메드 빈 라시드 알 막툼 태양광 공원(Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park)

DEWA가 시행 중인 모하메드 빈 라시드 알 막툼 솔라파크(Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park)는 독립발전소(IPP ; Independent Power Producer) 모델을 활용한 단일 부지로는 세계 최대 규모로 수용인원은 5천 명이다. 

2030년까지 5천MW의 용량을 계획하고 있다. 현재 태양공원의 생산능력은 PV 패널을 사용하여 1천627MW에 도달했다. DEWA는 PV와 집중된 태양 에너지(CSP ; Concentrated Solar Power)를 사용하여 총 1천233MW의 솔라파크에서 다른 프로젝트를 수행하고 있다. 두바이 에너지 믹스에서 청정 에너지 점유율은 11.5%에 도달했으며 2022년 말까지 14%에 이를 것으로 예상된다.

제벨 알리 발전소 및 담수화 단지(Jebel Ali Power and Desalination Complex)

DEWA의 제벨 알리 전력 및 해수담수화 단지(Jebel Ali Power and Desalination Complex)는 두바이에 고품질, 효율성 및 신뢰할 수 있는 전기 및 수도 서비스를 제공하는 핵심 축 중 하나이다. 이 복합단지는 9천547개의 단일 부지의 천연가스 발전 시설로 기네스북에 등재되었다

DEWA는 현재 D-, E-, G-, K-, L 및 M 스테이션에서 총 427MIGD의 물을 생산할 수 있는 43개의 MSF(Multi-Stage Flash) 담수화 장치를 보유하고 있다. 또한 63MIGD의 생산 능력을 갖춘 2개의 SWRO(해수역삼투 담수화) 시설이 있다. DEWA의 총 담수 생산 능력은 490MIGD이다.

알에워 H-스테이션 발전소(H-Station Power Plant in Al Aweer)

알에워(Al Aewer)에 있는  H-스테이션(H-Station) 발전소는 두바이의 최대 전력 수요에 대해 설정된 예비 마진 기준을 충족하기 위한 DEWA의 핵심 프로젝트 중 하나이다. 현재 이 역의 설치 용량은 1천996MW이다.

하산전력단지(Hassyan Power Complex)

천연가스로 가동되는 하산전력단지(Hassyan Power Complex)의 현재 생산 능력은 IPP 모델을 사용하여 1천800MW에 도달했다. 2023년에 600MW가 추가로 추가된다. 이로써 단지의 용량이 2천400MW로 증가한다.

DEWA keeps pace with Dubai's development and population growth by increasing its production capacity of energy and water

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) provides electricity and water services to 3.514 million people living in Dubai according to the highest standards of reliability, availability, efficiency, and quality. This number is expected to reach 5.8 million by 2040.

 DEWA’s capacity has reached 14,117 megawatts (MW) of electricity and 490 million imperial gallons per day (MIGD) of desalinated water. DEWA keeps pace with the growing demand for energy and water in Dubai and plays a key role in the Emirate’s efforts to increase the share of clean and renewable energy in line with the Dubai’s Clean Energy Strategy 2050 and Dubai’s Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050 which aims to provide 100% of Dubai’s energy production capacity from clean energy sources by 2050. 

Meeting demand forecasts until 2031

Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, which DEWA is implementing, is the largest single-site solar park in the world using the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model, with a planned capacity of 5,000MW by 2030. 

The current production capacity of the Solar Park has reached 1,627MW using PV panels. DEWA is implementing other projects at the Solar Park with a total of 1,233MW using PV and Concentrated Solar Power (CSP). Clean energy share in Dubai’s energy mix has reached 11.5% and is expected to reach 14% by the end of 2022.

Jebel Ali Power and Desalination Complex

DEWA's Jebel Ali Power and Desalination Complex is one of the key pillars to providing Dubai with high-quality, efficient and reliable electricity and water services. The Complex has been confirmed by Guinness World Records as the largest single-site natural gas power generation facility in the world, at a capacity of 9,547MW. DEWA currently has 43 Multi-Stage Flash (MSF) water desalination units with a total production capacity of 427 MIGD of water at the D-, E-, G-, K-, L, and M Stations. It also has 2 SWRO plants with a production capacity of 63 MIGD. DEWA’s total production capacity of desalinated water is 490 MIGD.

H-Station Power Plant in Al Aweer

The H-Station Power Plant in Al Aweer is one of DEWA's key projects to meet the reserve margin criterion set for peak electricity demand in Dubai. The station’s current installed capacity is 1,996MW of electricity.

Hassyan Power Complex

The current production capacity of the Hassyan Power Complex, which runs on natural gas, has reached 1,800MW, using the IPP model. A further 600MW will be added in 2023. This will raise the capacity of the Complex to 2,400MW
