[이스라엘] 브렌밀러,  세계 최초로 열 에너지 저장용 기가팩토리 운영 시작

2023년 말까지 최대 용량으로 운영될 예정

열 에너지 스토리지("TES")의 글로벌 리더인 브렌밀러(Brenmiller Energy Ltd.)는 5월 2일 이스라엘 디모나에 TES 기가 공장 운영을 시작했다고 밝혔다. 공장 운영 기념식에는 아비 브렌밀러 회사의 창립자이자 CEO이자 이사회 의장인 베니 비톤(Benny Biton) 디모나(Dimona) 시장과 론 토머(Ron Tomer) 이스라엘 제조업자 협회 회장이 참석했다.  새로운 시설은 브렌밀러의 주요 제조 허브 역할을 할 것이며 생산 라인은 2023년 말까지 최대 4 GWh의 특허 bGen™ TES 모듈을 생산할 것으로 예상된다. 디모나의 공장은 세계 최초의 TES 기가 공장이다.

유럽 투자 은행(EIB)이 EIB와의 750만 유로(820만 달러)의 설비 계약을 통해 자금을 조달하는 브렌밀러의 TES 기가 공장은 첨단 기계를 갖추고 있으며 재생 에너지로 운영에 전력을 공급할 수 있는 옥상 태양광(PV) 태양광 시스템을 갖추고 있다.

토마스 외스트로스(Thomas Östros) EIB 에너지 담당 부사장은 "EU 전체에서 에너지 독립의 필요성은 논쟁의 여지가 없다"며 "그러나 재생 에너지만으로는 우리의 에너지나 기후 위기를 해결할 수 없다. 장기 에너지 저장은 재생 가능한 간헐성을 지원하고 전력망과 산업 공장을 탈탄소시키고 안전한 에너지 공급을 보장하는 데 중요하다. 우리는 EU가 오늘날 중요한 에너지 문제를 극복하는 데 도움이 되는 열 에너지 저장 기술을 제조할 브렌밀러의 기가팩토리(Giga Factory)에 자금을 지원하게 되어 기쁘다"고 말했다.

The factory is expected to operate at full capacity by the end of 2023 and produce up to 4GWh of bGen™ systems annually to serve the Company's pipeline of clean energy projects.

Brenmiller Energy Ltd. Financed by the European Investment Bank (EIB) through a €7.5 million ($8.2 million) facility agreement with EIB, Brenmiller’s TES gigafactory is equipped with advanced machinery and features a rooftop photovoltaic (PV) solar system to help power its operations with renewable energy.
