American Academy of Environmental Engineers(AAEES)는 로스엔젤레스의 Echo Park 호수와 호수 공원 정화사업으로 우수한 지속성을 인정받아 2014 환경적 지속성 최우수상을 수상했다.

측정기준은 수질의 향상과 식물과 서식지 정화이다. Black & Veatch팀은 지속가능성을 위한 도시의 목표에 맞는 다목적의 해법을 내놓았다. 이 프로젝트는 호수의 중요한 홍수 통제를 유지하고 레저와 조형적 특징을 관리한다.

Echo Park Lake restoration wins Environmental Sustainability Grand Prize
 
The American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (AAEES) has recognized the restoration of Echo Park Lake and its parklands in the city of Los Angeles, Calif., with the 2014 Environmental Sustainability Grand Prize for its exceptional sustainability practices.

The City of Los Angeles Proposition O financed the multi-year project, and Black & Veatch provided engineering and design services. The measure required water quality improvement and vegetation and habitat restoration. The Black & Veatch team delivered multipurpose solutions while balancing the city's goals and objectives in a sustainable manner. The project maintains the lake's important flood control, recreational and aesthetic features.

"This award recognizes the efforts of the city of Los Angeles to restore the centerpiece of a valuable urban park," said Cindy Wallis-Lage, President of Black & Veatch's water business. "To meet their goal for a sustainable solution, we were challenged to deliver a chemical-free water treatment plan."
