비버 카운티에 위치한 Monaca 자치구는 최근 새로운 smart water network를 시행했고 누출 탐지와 효율 향상을 통해 2026년까지 260만 달러 이상 절약을 예상한다고 발표했다.

Manaca는 Sensus와 Permalog 누수 탐지로부터 개선된 계량 시설(AMI) 통신망 FlexNet™ 을 겹합하여 물 시스템을 향상시켰다. 또한, 누출 할 위험이 크고 노후화된 물 분배 시스템을 개선하여 생산량을 증가하고 계산 정확도를 향상하며 비용을 절감했다고 밝혔다.

The Borough of Monaca located in Beaver County, Pa., recently implemented a new smart water network and expects to save more than $2.6 million by 2026 through leak detection and increased efficiencies.

Monaca made key improvements to its water system by incorporating the FlexNet™ advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) communications network from Sensus, coupled with Permalog leak detection. With a leak-prone, aging water distribution system, the borough sought an upgrade that would increase productivity, improve billing accuracy and save money.

Days after deploying Sensus technologies, Monaca discovered that the local water spring, a community landmark, was actually long-standing rupture, spilling more than 200,000 gallons of water per day. "This leak existed for years, dating back more than 20 years," said Borough Manager Mario Leone Jr. "Without Sensus technology, this leak would have remained undetected."

He added, "Leaks eventually tell you where they are, but can you afford to wait? With the Sensus smart water network, we are able to detect water leaks before they become costly to our community and the environment."

A smart water network, like Sensus's, is an integrated set of products, solutions and systems that enables utilities to remotely and continuously monitor and diagnose problems, prioritize and manage maintenance issues, and use data to optimize all aspects of water distribution network performance.
