24개월 동안 지역에 4만5천개의 추가적인 계량 송신부(MTUs)를 효율적으로 활용하기 위한 Aclara Technologies LLC와 Toho 수도청의 협정이 최종적으로 마무리 됐다고 발표했다.

 

Toho는 11만 5천개의 AMI-enabled 계량기를 관리하고 12만 5천개의 물 계량기로 Osceola County의 물 서비스를 재생한다. 또한, Toho는 고객 서비스 강화와 누출, 불능의 계량기, 절도로부터 손실되는 물을 절감하여 자원을 보호하기위해  Aclara의 advanced metering infrastructure (AMI)시스템을 사용한다. 한편,STAR네트워크는 450-470 MHz 주파수 범위 내의 허가된 채널의 저주파 라디오 신호를 이용하며 도시 규모의 요구를 충족하기 위해 설정가능 하다.

An agreement between Aclara Technologies LLC, a provider of intelligent infrastructure technologies for water, gas and electric utilities, and Toho Water Authority in Kissimmee, Fla., has been finalized to deploy 45,000 additional meter transmission units (MTUs) to the site over the next 24 months.

This brings the total number of AMI-enabled meters managed by Toho to 115,000. Toho is the largest provider of water, wastewater and reclaimed water services in Osceola County, with 125,000 total water meters.
 
Toho has used Aclara's advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) system to enhance customer service and conserve resources by reducing water losses from leaks, inoperable meters and theft. The STAR network employs low-frequency radio signals on licensed channels within the 450-470 MHz frequency range and is configurable to meet the requirements of any size city.

Meters in Toho's water system are located above- and below-ground. The STAR network MTU's are manufactured to an International Protection Rating of 68 and is therefore less likely to malfunction due to high humidity or flooding. In addition, the system's 142 data collector units, mounted throughout the city, are designed to sustain hurricane-force winds of 150 miles per hour.
