Qatar power firm to launch desalination plants는 대규모 담수화 플랜트 개시를 준비하고 있다고 밝혔다. 첫 번째 플랜트의 생산 용량은 1억7천500만L이며 2015년 5월 Abu Fatas에서 출시할 예정이다. 또한 두 번째 담수화 플랜트는 6억5천만L 수용량이며 2017년에 개시할 계획이다. 이 플랜트는 Kahramaa가 수도원수의 원활할 유통을 돕는다.

Qatar launch General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) is set to launch to giant desalination plants.

The first plant, with a production capacity of 175 million litres, will be launched at Abu Fatas in May 2015. Kahramaa director, Ali Saif Al Malki, said the second desalination plant will be launched in 2017. The capacity would be 650 million litres.

The plants will help Kahramaa to ensure smooth distribution of piped water for several days, in the event of any unplanned outage in the production chain.
