[카메룬] Pure Aqua사, 태양동력의 담수화 플랜트 건설

미국 기반의 Pure Aqua사는 카메룬에 6개의 태양동력을 사용하는 역삼투 물 정화장치를 설계·건설한다고 밝혔다.

정화장치는 개인적인 태양판을 사용해서 자가적으로 전력을 유지하고 하루에 음용가능한 물을 5만8천리터 생산한다. 카메룬 수도인 야운데의 300만 이상의 주민들은 하루에 3만 리터의 상수도를 필요로 한다. 현재 야운데의 Nyong River과 차드호는 도시의 우선적인 수자원이지만 종종 상수도가 오염된 경우가 발생한다. 그리고 카메룬의 여러 도시와 마을은 마실 수 있는 식수에 접근이 어려운 실정이다.

US-based Pure Aqua has designed and manufactured six solar-powered reverse osmosis water purifiers for river water in the African state of Cameroon.

The firm said that each of the purifiers was electrically self-sustained by individual solar panels and could each produce 58,000 litres of potable water a day.

Cameroon's capital city Yaounde's three million-plus inhabitants alone need a daily water supply of over 300 million litres.

The Nyong River in Yaounde and Lake Chad are primary sources of water for the city but often the water supply is contaminated. And several towns and villages in Cameroon do not have access to potable and clean drinking water either.
