뉴올리언스 상·하수 이사회(S&WB)는 시의 폐수처리 플랜트 2곳의 운영 및 유지관리를 지속하기 위한 베올리아 북미지사와의 파트너십을 재개했다. 이번 10년 협정은 계약기간 동안 총 1억2천200만 달러의 가치를 지니며, 하루 1억5천만 갤런의 처리용량을 가질 것으로 보인다. 또, 자금향상, 허리케인 복구, 바이오고형물 처리 등을 지원할 예정이다.

베올리아는 1992년 이래로 S&WB에 서비스를 제공해 왔으며, 미국 내 최대규모의 민관협력 중 하나로 파트너십을 유지해 왔다.

 

 

 

The Sewerage & Water Board of New Orleans (S&WB) has renewed its partnership with Veolia North America, a global provider of environmental solutions, to continue operating, maintaining and managing the city's two wastewater treatment plants. The 10-year agreement is valued at $122 million over the contract term and covers a combined treatment capacity of nearly 150 million gallons per day (MGD), in addition to support for capital improvements, hurricane recovery, septage receiving, and biosolids disposal.

 

Veolia has provided services to S&WB since 1992, and the public-private partnership remains one of the largest in the United States. S&WB and Veolia have been consistently recognized for their outstanding compliance record with State and EPA regulations and recently won a Gold award from the National Association of Clean Water Agencies for perfect environmental compliance. Veolia has worked with the S&WB to generate more than $35 million in overall savings for residents.

"Veolia has done much to make the Sewerage & Water Board a strong environmental partner to the residents of New Orleans and produce meaningful results for our community. The S&WB and Veolia have recently undertaken several environmental projects to build on our business relationship. Most recently, a wetlands assimilation project, developed in conjunction with Tulane University, is leveraging their expertise to restore urban, degraded wetlands into a lavish cypress forest. In another project, ash from incineration will be used to help improve the natural landscape of New Orleans while eliminating the amount of ash sent to landfill.
