Dubai utility accepts bids for solar desalination project1
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has accepted seven bids to develop a pilot solar-powered reverse osmosis desalination project.
DEWA reported that HHH Construction submitted the lowest bid of just under AED 3 million (US$ 816,000) to design, supply, install, test and commission a plant. LMM Trading placed the highest bid of AED 9.3 milion (US$ 2.53 million) according to DEWA.
DEWA reported Value Addition, ADC Energy Systems, Bilfinger Deutsch Babcock Emirates and Al Mostajed Technologies as having submitted bids, with Al Mostajed proposing two offers.
Abengoa Water and Drake and Skull Engineering, DEWA said, had offers rejected because they did not include a tender bond of at least 5% of the total tender price with their proposals.
