싱가포르 국영 물기업 PUB는 4번째 담수화 플랜트를 시공할 예정이라고 최근 발표했다. PUB는 담수화시설에 대한 자문 서비스 제공을 위한 입찰을 모집할 계획이다.

하루 3천만 임페리얼 갤런의 용량으로 계획된 이번 플랜트는 향후 시 지역의 물 수요를 충족하고 싱가포르의 가뭄 대응력을 강화하는 데 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다. 시와 싱가포르 동부의 물 수요 구역 근처에 위치한 마리나(Marina) 동부 담수화 플랜트는 또한 마리나 저수지로부터 공급된 담수를 처리할 용량을 보유하게 될 예정이다.

 

 

 

PUB, Singapore's national water agency, recently announced that it will build its fourth desalination plant in the island city-state. The company will call a tender for the provision of Consultancy Services for the facility.

 

Planned with a capacity of 30 million imperial gallons per day, the plant will help meet future water demand in the city area and strengthen Singapore's drought resilience.

 

Located near water demand zones in the city and eastern Singapore, the Marina East desalination plant will also have the capability to treat freshwater from Marina Reservoir.

 

"During the dry weather in recent years, we were able to ensure supply by increasing the production of NEWater and desalinated water," said Chua Soon Guan, deputy chief executive (Policy & Development). "Building up weather-resilient water sources will help us be better prepared for possible prolonged periods of dry spells in future."

 

The tender will include the engineering design for the development of the plant under a Design-Build-Own-Operate (DBOO) arrangement.
