Carlsbad ahead of schedule
The giant Carlsbad seawater desalination plant in California is about a month ahead of schedule for completion with a start date now in October according to its builder, Poseidon Water.
Construction of the US$ 1 billion Carlsbad desalination facility is complete and inspectors are currently testing the plant. The plant is currently producing desalinated water at 200 Ml/d water a day.
Carlsbad project developer, IDE Technologies, is already looking at ways to expand the plant's production by 20 Ml/d according to IDE Americas chief executive officer, Mark Lambert.
