이집트는 다양한 부문에서 진행될 여러 인프라 프로젝트 중 다가오는 2016년 적어도 3개의 담수화 민관협력 프로젝트를 진행할 계획이라고 밝혔다. 이집트 재정부 장관 Atter Hanoura는 9월 말까지 2개의 담수화 플랜트 프로젝트가 발표되고, 이어 10월 말까지 또 1개 프로젝트를 발표할 예정이라고 밝혔다. Hanoura 장관에 따르면 올해는 100억EGP 규모의 프로젝트 7개가 끝마쳐질 예정이다.

나머지 프로젝트들은 담수화뿐만 아니라 환경부문, 스포츠, 폐수플랜트, 재활용시설 등 다양한 분야에서 160억∼200억EGP(20억∼25억 달러)의 투자가 필요할 것으로 예상된다. Hanoura 장관은 전기 프로젝트는 BOT와 BOO 형식으로 진행될 계획이며, 이집트 전력청(EEHC)의 감독 하에 재무부 협조로 이루어질 예정이다.

 

 

 

Egypt has unveiled plans for at least three desalination public private partnerships in 2016 among a dozen infrastructure projects in various sectors.

 

The head of Egypt's ministry of finance's central partnership unit, Atter Hanoura, said that two desalination plants projects will be announced by the end of this month along with another one by the end of October. This year will end with the putting up of seven projects worth EGP 10 billion said Hanoura.

 

The dozen projects were expected to require investments of EGP 16 billion to EGP 20 billion (US$ 2 billion to US$ 2.5 billion) in the environmental sector, sports, sewage plants, recycling facilities as well as in desalination according to Hanoura.

 

He added that electricity projects will be put forward under Build-Operate-Transfer and Build- Own-Operate projects, under the supervision of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company, in cooperation with the Ministry of Finance.
