식수 파이프 및 피팅(fitting)에 대한 CPVC 제조업체로 경험을 구축하고 있는 테크노어 에이팩스(Teknor Apex)는 신규 브랜드인 ‘아쿠아가드(AquaGuard)’ 아래 CPVC 제조에 대한 특허 범위를 개발했다.

테크노어 에이펙스는 소·대규모 지름 파이프에 대한 아쿠아가드 CPVC의 세 가지 표준 등급과 함께 피팅에 대한 두 가지 등급을 제공한다. 모든 등급은 식수용 NSF 14 및 NSF 61 인증을 획득했다.

 

 

 

Building on its experience as a compounder of CPVC for potable water pipe and fittings, Teknor Apex Company has developed a proprietary range of CPVC compounds under the new AquaGuard® brand.

 

Teknor Apex offers three standard grades of AquaGuard CPVC for small- and large-diameter pipe, and two grades for fittings. All grades have NSF 14 and 61 certifications for use with potable water. As a custom compounder, Teknor Apex is also prepared to develop formulations to meet specific customer requirements.

 

In addition to use in single and multi-family residences, the new AquaGuard compounds have received certification from ICC Evaluation Service, LLC for applications in building plenums and ducts. The certification is essential for compliance with many U.S. and Canadian building codes and requires passing a modified version of flame spread and smoke generation tests specified in UL 723 / ASTM E84. Pipe and fittings were tested in sizes from 0.5 to 2.0 inches.

 

“AquaGuard CPVC compounds provide an enhanced cost-performance alternative to crosslinked polyethylene (PE-X) and traditional copper in hot and cold water pipe,” said John Hickman, business development manager for the Vinyl Division of Teknor Apex. “Unlike copper, CPVC pipe resists corrosion; in addition, it is easier to install, replacing soldering with a simpler solvent welding method for joints, and it is more economical in terms of both material and installation costs. Unlike PE-X, CPVC is inherently rigid, kink-resistant, and flame retardant, while providing greater tensile strength, dimensional stability, chlorine resistance, and joint strength than PE-X.”
