카타르 엔지니어링&컨스트럭션 컴퍼니(Qatar Engineering & Construction Company)는 베올리아 워터(Veolia Water)와 라스라판(Ras Laffan) 지역에 위치한 돌핀 에너지(Dolphin Energy)의 천연가스 생산 및 가공시설을 위한 폐수처리 플랜트의 엔지니어·생산·조달 계약을 체결했다.

이 폐수처리시설은 라스라판 가스플랜트에 위치한 기존 재주입 유정으로 유입되는 폐수량과  외부 자원에서 구매하는 담수량을 모두 줄이는 동시에 재이용 수질의 물을 생산할 예정이다.

 

 

 

The Qatar Engineering & Construction Company has awarded a contract to Veolia Water Technologies to engineer, procure and deliver a wastewater treatment plant for Dolphin Energy's natural gas production and processing facilities in Ras Laffan, Qatar.

 

The wastewater treatment facility will provide quality water for reuse, reducing both the volume of wastewater currently being injected into the existing re-injection wells at the Ras Laffan gas plant, and the volume of desalinated water purchased from external sources.

 

Start-up is scheduled for September 2017.

 

Kinetic Hydrate Inhibitor (KHI) polymers will also be eliminated from the residual wastewater. Industry regulators in Qatar have concluded that the presence of KHI polymers in the injected wastewater leads to long term reservoir damage.

 

Veolia was awarded a contract in 2015 for its proven HPD evaporators which will be used for KHI removal and distillate recovery. With this new contract, Veolia will also provide a pretreatment package upstream of the evaporators using its MPP Tilted Plate Flotation technology.

 

The Dolphin Energy project is one of the largest cross-border energy projects ever undertaken in the Middle East. The goal is to provide natural gas from Qatar through pipeline to meet the United Arab Emirates’ energy needs. Qatar, Oman and the UAE are involved in this project.

 

Veolia is already involved in a number of operations in Qatar, of which the design, build and operation of the Doha South Wastewater Treatment Plant and the implementation of a “Zero Liquid Discharge” process at Shell’s Pearl Gas-to-Liquid complex in Ras Laffan.
