수처리 솔루션 분야의 세계적인 선두주자인 IDE 워터 테크놀러지스(IDE Water Technologies)가 이스라엘 아프키 마임((Afikey Maim) 기수 담수화 처리시설(BWRO Treatment Facility)의 설계, 시공, 운영(DBO ; design, build and operation) 등 에멕 하마노 워터사(Emek Hama’aynot Water Corporation)와 함께 프로젝트를 시작한다.

IDE는 수 년 동안 선택적으로 증설하여 시설을 운영할 예정으로, 이스라엘 길보아(Gilboa) 지역의 농업과 공업용으로 약 70㎥/h의 고품질 물을 제공할 뿐만 아니라, 양식용 연못에 약 70㎥/h의 브라인도 제공한다.

아프키 마임 처리장(Afikey Maim Treatment Facility)은 이스라엘에서 최초로 요르단강(Jordan River) 남쪽의 오염된 물을 재사용하여 IDE의 혁신적인 기술을 구현한다.

최근 몇 년 동안, 남부 요르단강은 갈릴리해(Sea of Galile) 주변의 바다와 다양한 출처의 하·폐수의 샘물에서 소금기 있는 통로가 되어 농업에 이용되는 것을 방해하고 있다.

IDE의 고급 공정은 광범위한 전처리 공정을 포함, 양식 사료용수 내 녹조 및 유기물 농도의 큰 변동을 극복하기 위해 응고 및 침전(implementing coagulation), 모래여과(sand filtration), 미세여과(micronic filtration), 한외여과(ultrafiltration), 담수화(desalination) 등을 구현하기 위해 광대한 전처리 공정을 포함한다.

아프키 마임 처리시설의 란 벤눈(Ran Ben-Nun) CEO는 "요르단강은 매우 중요하며 세계에서 가장 잘 알려진 강 중 하나이다. 하지만 수년 동안 이 강은 오염으로 인해 높은 염도를 만들어냈고, 하·폐수는 관개에 사용될 수 없었다" 라고 말했다.

란 벤눈(Ran Ben-Nun) CEO는 이어 "IDE와 프로젝트에 참여하는 팀의 결정 덕분에, 우리의 농업용수 공급은 이제 시스템에 공급되는 고품질 담수화 물로부터 혜택을 받게 될 것이다"라고 덧붙였다.

IDE 워터테크놀러지스(IDE Water Technologies)의 운영 및 유지보수 책임자인 나타넬 루손(Natanel Louzon)은 "아프키 마임 처리시설은 가장 필요한 곳에 최고 품질의 물을 공급하고 산업과 농업을 지원한다"라고 말했다.

또한, 이 시설에서 생산되는 물은 길보아 펌프 저장 프로젝트(Gilboa pumped storage project)에 도움을 줄 것이며, 두 개의 수력 전기 터빈을 사용하여 저수지의 증발 손실을 보완한다.

IDE Water Technologies Launches Israel's First BWRO Treatment Facility

IDE to design, build and operate the unique Afikey Maim treatment facility, a first of its kind in Israel

IDE Water Technologies, a world leader in water treatment solutions, launches the project with Emek Hama’aynot Water Corporation, including the design, build and operation (DBO) of the Afikey Maim Facility in Israel.

IDE will operate the facility for several years with an optional extension, providing approximately 280 m3/h (2,000,000 m3 per year) of high-quality water for agriculture and industrial use in Israel’s Gilboa area, in addition to about 70 m3/h of brine to be used for fish farming ponds.

The Afikey Maim Facility will be the first of its kind brackish/surface water reclamation plant in Israel to reuse the southern Jordan River’s polluted water, implementing IDE's innovative technologies.

In recent years, the southern Jordan River has become a channel fed mainly with brackish water from springs around the Sea of Galilee and wastewater from various sources ? hindering its use for agriculture.

IDE’s advanced process includes a vast pre-treatment process, in order to overcome major fluctuations in algae and organic matter concentration in the feed water, implementing coagulation and sedimentation, sand filtration, micronic filtration, ultrafiltration and desalination.

The desalination process operates at an 80% recovery rate. This ensures continuous operation and empowers the facility to increase the fresh water supply while contributing to Israel’s water economy and regional development.

“The Jordan River has tremendous importance and is one of the most recognizable rivers in the world. However, for many years, the river has suffered from pollution, creating high salinity, and the wastewater could not be used for irrigation,” said Ran Ben-Nun, CEO, Afikey Maim.

“Thanks to the determination of IDE and the team involved in the project, our agriculture water supply will now benefit from additional high-quality desalinated water fed into the system."

Additionally, the water produced from this facility will aid the Gilboa pumped storage project, compensating for evaporation losses from the reservoirs with the use of two hydroelectric turbines.
