[영국] ABB, 하폐수처리시설 최적화 위한 디지털 솔루션 출시

ABB는 가장 낮은 에너지 사용과 가장 높은 운영 효율을 모두 달성하기 위해 하폐수처리시설 운영자들이 직면하는 끊임없는 과제를 해결하는 디지털 솔루션인 ABB Ability™ Smart Solution for Wastewater를 출시한다고 밝혔다.

혁신적인 솔루션은 APC(Advanced Process Control)와 디지털 트윈 및 시뮬레이션 기술의 두 가지 주요 축으로 구성되어 향후 운영 요구사항을 예측한다. 지속적인 모니터링과 자동화를 통해 공정변동성을 줄이고 가동을 안정화시켜 폐수처리장이 최적의 가동조건에 도달할 수 있도록 지원할 예정이다. 이를 통해 지속적이고 점진적인 운영 조정과 이득을 얻을 수 있으며, 에너지 소비와 화학 사용을 줄이고 수익성도 높일 수 있다.

국제에너지기구에 따르면 2020년 전 세계 하폐수처리 전력 소비량은 222TWh에 달했으며 20401년까지 이 분야 전력 사용량이 80% 증가할 것으로 예측됐다. 이는 부분적으로 처리 하폐수에 대한 수요가 증가하기 때문이기도 하며, 이는 현재 가치 있는 잠재적 자원으로 여겨지고 있다.

덴마크 물 환경 전문가들의 유압 모델링 인텔리전스인 DHI Group이 개발한 ABB Ability™ Smart Solution for Wastwater는 날씨 패턴 등 환경 요소와 함께 폐수 유입을 예측하여 오버플로우 및 과태료 발생 위험을 줄여 보다 안정적인 처리 공정을 구현한다. ABB Ability™ 스마트 폐수 솔루션은 물 산업용 스마트 솔루션 제품군 중 최초가 될 것이다. ABB의 Optimax® 및 APC의 경험과 탄탄한 성능을 바탕으로 제작된 이 첫 번째 제품은 폐수 처리 공장을 보다 안전하고 스마트하며 지속 가능하게 만들기 위해 설계됐다.

ABB launches innovative digital solution to reduce energy use and optimize operations in wastewater plants

ABB launches ABB Ability™ Smart Solution for Wastewater, a digital solution which addresses the un-precedented challenge faced by wastewater treatment plant operators to achieve both the lowest energy use, and the highest operational standards.

The innovative solution is composed of two main pillars, advanced process control (APC) and digital twin and simulation technology to forecast future operational needs. It will help wastewater treatment plants reach optimal operating conditions by reducing process variability and stabilizing operations through continuous monitoring and automation. This enables constant, incremental operational adjustments and gains, reducing energy consumption and chemical usage, alongside increasing profitability.

According to the International Energy Agency, global electricity consumption in wastewater treatment reached 222 TWh in 2020, with electricity usage across the sector predicted to increase by 80 percent by 20401. This is in part due to the increasing demand for treated wastewater, which is now considered a valuable potential resource.

Developed with hydraulic modelling intelligence from the Danish water environment specialists, DHI Group, the ABB Ability™ Smart Solution for Wastewater creates a more stable treatment process by predicting wastewater inflow together with environmental factors such as weather patterns, reducing risk of overflow and fines.  ABB Ability™ Smart Solution for Wastewater will be the first in a family of smart solutions for the water industry. Building on the experience and solid performances of ABB’s Optimax® and APC, this first offering is designed to make wastewater treatment plants safer, smarter, and more sustainable.
