[미국] 루머스, 지멘스 에너지로부터 물 및 폐수처리 기술 인수

공정 기술 및 가치 중심 에너지 솔루션의 글로벌 공급업체인 루머스 테크놀로지(Lummus Technology)는 지멘스 에너지(Siemens Energy)와 지적 재산권 및 저작권, 영업 비밀, 연구 및 개발 자산을 포함한 물 솔루션 포트폴리오에서 자산을 인수하기로 합의했다고 발표했다. 이 기술은 탄소 흡착, 생물학적 처리 및 열수 공정(hydrothermal processes)을 사용해 석유 및 가스 산업의 용수 및 폐수 수요를 해결한다.

루머스는 지멘스 에너지의 Zimpro® 습식 공기 산화 기술 및 PACT® 시스템 관련 지적 재산, 연구실 장비 및 관련 자산을 인수할 예정이다. 이 기술은 석유화학 및 정제 시설에서 생산되는 용수 및 폐수 처리로 지속 가능하고 통합된 루머스의 포트폴리오를 확장할 것이다.

Zimpro 시스템은 에틸렌 크래커에서 발생하는 부식성 폐기물 처리를 다루는 반면, PACT 공정은 산업 폐수에서 유기 오염 물질을 제거하도록 설계된 효율적인 폐수 처리 공정이다. 두 공정 모두 기존 2차 폐기물 흐름의 생성을 최소화하면서 상승된 폐기물 흐름의 변환 및 제거를 포함해 기존 처리 방법에 비해 몇가지 이점을 제공한다.

Zimpro 및 PACT 기술은 산업 폐수 처리 문제에 대한 솔루션을 제공하고, 산업 시설에서 재사용할 수 있도록 보다 깨끗한 폐수를 생산하며, 위험, 탄소 배출량 및 운영 비용을 줄이면서 신뢰할 수 있는 수자원을 제공한다.

Lummus Acquires Water and Wastewater Treatment Technologies from Siemens Energy

Acquisition expands Lummus’ portfolio for sustainable, integrated water solutions that support petrochemical customers’ waste reduction and efficiency goals

Lummus Technology, a global provider of process technologies and value-driven energy solutions, announced that it has reached an agreement with Siemens Energy to acquire assets from their water solutions portfolio including intellectual property and copyrights, trade secrets, and research and development properties. The technologies address water and wastewater needs of the oil and gas industry using carbon adsorption, biological treatment and hydrothermal processes.

Lummus will acquire Siemens Energy’s Zimpro® wet air oxidation technology and PACT® system, plus the associated intellectual property, lab equipment and associated assets. The technologies will expand Lummus’ portfolio of sustainable and integrated offerings into the treatment of water and wastewater produced in petrochemical and refining facilities.

“Water and wastewater management in industrial complexes is critical for our customers who are looking for answers to improve energy efficiency, make their operations more sustainable, and comply with environmental regulations and standards,” said Leon de Bruyn, President and CEO of Lummus Technology. “This acquisition adds to our growing integrated technology portfolio and provides yet another sustainable solution for our customers.”

The Zimpro system addresses treatment of caustic waste from ethylene crackers, while the PACT process is an efficient wastewater treatment process designed to remove organic pollutants from industrial wastewater. Both processes offer several advantages over traditional treatment methods, including the conversion and destruction of elevated waste streams, while minimizing the generation of secondary waste streams.

The Zimpro and PACT technologies provide solutions for industrial wastewater treatment challenges, yield cleaner wastewater for reuse at industrial facilities and deliver a reliable water resource while reducing risk, carbon footprint and operating costs.
