MBR 공정에서 운전 및 유지보수를 용이하게 하기 위한 목적으로 새로운 폐수처리용 UF 멤브레인이 QUA에 의해 개발됐다.

EnviQ 브랜드의 이 멤브레인은 PVDF 재질의 평막형 멤브레인으로, 보다 높은 강도를 보유하고 있어 UF 기공 수준의 품질을 갖고 있다.

또한 특별히 설계된 air diffuser, 일명 reverse diffusion에 의해 스크러빙 효율을 크게 하여 크리닝 주기를 감소시킨 것이 특징이다.

이 제품은 일반적인 활성슬러지 처리공법과 비교하여 생물학적 폐수처리 및 순환처리에서 설치비용을 크게 감소시킬 수 있으며, 현재 E-8C, E-16C, E-32C 모델 3가지가 출시되어 있고 여과면적은 각각 80㎡, 160㎡, 320㎡라고 QUA 측에서는 발표하고 있다.

Ultrafiltration (UF) wastewater treatment membranes specially developed to improve ease of operation and maintenance in membrane bioreactors have been introduced by QUA®.

EnviQ membranes offer UF quality product water with a stronger and more rugged PVDF flat-sheet membrane. The membrane's unique features, such as reverse diffusion and specially designed air diffusers, maximize scrubbing efficiency resulting in reduced cleaning.

Pennsylvania-based QUA says that EnviQ significantly lowers the total installed cost of biological wastewater treatment and recycle systems compared with conventional activated sludge processes with tertiary filtration.

EnviQ is currently offered in three configurations: E-8C, 16C and 32C, each having surface area of 80, 160 and 320 m², respectively.
