| [EPA] 싱가포르 PUB와 상호 공동으로 물 관련 현안 해결 추진
미국 EPA와 싱가포르 국립물기관인 PUB 사이에 물의 재이용, 폐수로부터 부가가치를 갖는 원재료 회수 및 도시물관리를 지속유지하기 위한 업무 등을 공동 추진하기 위한 협약이 체결됐다.
이에 의하면 상호 관심있는 분야에 공동으로 협조하기로 한 것으로 안전한 음용수물에 대한 연구, 사람과 생태환경 보호 목적으로 수질을 보호하고 개선하기 위한 연안 관리(watershed management), 수처리 및 폐수처리에서의 혁신적인 기술에 대한 연구·개발, 폐수로부터 물의 재이용 및 원재료 회수 그리고 지속가능한 물관련 인프라 구축 등이 포함되어 있다.

Wastewater reuse in new USEPA-Singapore agreement
The US Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) has signed an agreement with Singapore's national water agency, PUB, to collaborate on sustainable urban water management, including water reuse and resource recovery from wastewater.
Under the memorandum of understanding signed in Singapore on 27 June 2013 by PUB's CEO, Chew Men Leong, and the US ambassador, David Adelman, several mutual areas of interest were identified for bilateral cooperation.
These areas included: safe drinking water research; watershed management to improve and protect water quality for human health and ecosystems; technological research and development for innovative water and wastewater treatment; water reuse and resource recovery from wastewater; and sustainable water infrastructure.
