Three major membrane companies relaunch under new brand name

Today, Rochem, Sepro and APTwater -- three major companies specializing in the membrane business -- have relaunched under the new consolidated brand name of ULTURA Inc.

At the launch, John Kaestle, CEO of ULTURA, stated that this integration creates a new force in high-recovery membrane technologies specializing in the most difficult-to-treat and valuable waters.

He advised that ULTURA's focus markets would include rare earths and mining; treatment of the complex cocktails of leachate from landfill sites; on-vessel gray/black water treatment and desalination for delicate marine ecosystems; electro-coating for the automotive industry; food and dairy; and advanced process separations for life sciences.

New product development announcements in the functionalized membrane space and new service offerings, such as off-balance sheet funding of design-build-own-operate-maintain (DBOOM) schemes, are expected shortly as ULTURA leverages its in-house membrane research and development facility in Oceanside, Calif.
