Dow launches RO elements into Americas
Dow Water and Process Solutions has launched a new range of reverse osmosis elements in North and South America which it claims can reduce energy consumption in seawater desalination by 10 per cent.
Dow's Filmtech Seamaxx elements help, the company said, to reduce the pressure needed for reverse osmosis desalination and provide reliable, long-term permeate quality for single or double pass and interstaged desalination systems.
The system produces up to 99.7 percent water purity, and up to 10% energy savings with less fouling at high operating flux compared to conventional low-energy elements Dow said. The Dow elements are modular and handle up to 85,000 litres a day.
