Amiad announces NSF accreditation for drinking water safety
Amiad Filtration Systems (AIM: AFS), a global producer of water treatment and filtration solutions, has announced that major product lines based on its automatic self-cleaning screen and microfiber technology have been certified by NSF International, an independent public health and safety accreditation organization, as meeting the requirements of "NSF/ANSI Standard 61 - Drinking Water System Components - Health Effects" (NSF/ANSI 61) for 2015.
Based on extensive product testing, material analyses and plant inspections, NSF evaluated every aspect of the products' construction or structure. NSF/ANSI 61 testing determines what contaminants may migrate or leach from a filtration system into drinking water and confirms that they are within the maximum levels allowed to be considered safe for human consumption. Certification to NSF/ANSI 61 assures Amiad's customers that the products meet the regulatory requirements for the U.S. and Canada as well as for many other countries. As a result of the certification, Amiad can display the NSF mark on the certified products. The key product lines that have received the certification are across the company's AMF range based on automatic self-cleaning microfiber technology for water filtration as fine as 2 micron; and its SAF and EBS ranges based on automatic self-cleaning screen technology for water filtration as fine as 10 micron.
