펜실베니아 주지사 Tom Wolf가 펜실베니아 인프라투자당국(PENNVEST)을 통해 8개 지방에 12개의 비점오염원(non-point-source), 식수 및 폐수 프로젝트에 에 1억3천만 달러를 투자하겠다고 발표했다. 전체 투자액 중 1억750만 달러는 저금리 대출로, 2천310만 달러는 기금을 통해 조달하기로 했다.

Wolf 주지사는 “이번 프로젝트는 더 건강하고 지속가능한 환경을 만드는 것과 동시에 펜실베니아의 깨끗한 물 인프라를 향상시키는 데 매우 중요하다”며 “또한, 모두의 미래를 위해 중요한 요소인 일자리 창출을 확대할 것으로 기대된다”고 말했다.

 

 

 

Today, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf announced the investment of $130.7 million for 12 non-point-source, drinking water and wastewater projects across eight counties through the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority (PENNVEST).

 

Of the $130.7 million, $107.5 million is allocated for low-interest loans, and $23.1 million is awarded through grants.

 

"These projects are vital to improving Pennsylvania's clean water infrastructure, leading to a healthier and more sustainable environment for all Pennsylvanians," said Wolf. "These will lead to expanded job growth, which is critical to the future of the commonwealth."

 

The funding comes from a combination of state funds approved by voters, federal grants to PENNVEST from the Environmental Protection Agency and recycled loan repayments from previous PENNVEST funding awards. Funds for the projects are disbursed after bills for work are paid and receipts are submitted to PENNVEST.
