펜실베니아 레딩지역 수도 당국(RAWA)이 지역의 물 보전 노력을 고취하기 위해 One Wish Foundation(OWF)과 파트너십을 체결할 계획이라고 발표했다.

RAWA의 대표 Dean Miller는 “이번 파트너십은 잊지 못할 최고의 아웃도어 경험을 만들기 위한 합작 노력에 있어 가장 좋은 방법”이라며 “이와 함께 좋은 수질을 유지하기 위한 보전 노력으로 유역 또한 혜택을 얻게 될 것”이라고 말했다.

 

 

 

The Reading Area Water Authority (RAWA) of Pennsylvania has announced that it will partner with the One Wish Foundation (OWF) of the Fleetwood borough to enhance RAWA's water conservation efforts while providing a meaningful experience for local wounded veterans and children with life-altering medical or social conditions.

 

"This partnership is a great way to join forces to create an unforgettable great outdoors experience," said RAWA Executive Director Dean Miller. "At the same time, the watershed will benefit from conservation methods that maintain good water quality." For example, riparian buffers will be preserved so that trees in the watershed can remove sediment for improved water quality.

 

According to OWF, one of its goals was to have a large plot of land to use 365 days per year that would give children and their families a place to participate in recreational activities. The organizations will also institute regulations for a catch-and-release fishing program on Lake Ontelaunee. To protect the source water, only electric trolling motors will be used to power the boat.

 

The partnership between RAWA and OWF created the channel to potentially make events possible such as shed hunts, archery/crossbow safety events and fishing events for the children and wounded veterans. By 2016, the Authority is providing property for the Foundation to have handicap-accessible outdoor recreational activities.
