아메리칸 워터는 최근 조직과 직원이 힘을 합쳐 워터포피플(Water For People)에 전달할 성금 21만9천326달러를 모았다고 발표했다. 워터포피플은 개발도상국에서 향상된 수도 및 위생시설 시스템·서비스 접근권을 제공하고자 하는 국제적 비영리조직이다.

작년의 기금보다 26% 증가한 이번 모금액은 아메리칸 워터가 조직 간 파트너십을 체결한 이래로 가장 성공적인 캠페인으로 꼽힌다.

 

 

 

American Water (AW), the largest publicly traded U.S. water and wastewater utility company, recently announced that the organization and its employees have raised a record-setting $219,326 for Water For People, an international nonprofit organization dedicated to providing access to improved water and sanitation systems and services in developing countries.

 

With a 26-percent increase from last year, this was AW's most successful employee-giving campaign since the company has been partnering with the organization. In addition to financial donations, AW employees volunteered to raise money in several creative ways, including hosting basketball games, dunk tanks, silent auctions, cookouts, and bake sales, all which enable Water For People to get closer to its goal to provide access to clean water for everyone forever.

 

"American Water has a long history of supporting Water For People, and we are fortunate to have such generous employees with a wonderful giving spirit," said Sharon Cameron, president of AW Enterprises and senior executive sponsor of the Water For People employee giving campaign. "There is no question of why we support this organization. Water For People's mission echoes American Water's commitment to building a world where all people have access to safe drinking water and sanitation.
