Evoqua to continue supplying FDA regional lab with ultrapure deionized water system
Evoqua Water Technologies, a specialist in water and wastewater treatment products, has been awarded a renewal contract to supply the U.S. Food & Drug Administration's (FDA) Arkansas Regional Laboratory in Jefferson, Ark., with its state-of-the-art ultrapure laboratory deionized water system.
The success of FDA activities to protect public health often depends on the ability of the Agency's laboratories to quickly and accurately analyze samples. Ultrapure water is key to accurate analysis and suggesting corrective action.
The contract awarded to Evoqua renews a five-year agreement with the FDA where Evoqua has supplied reverse osmosis, control systems and deionization to meet its pure water needs. The contract also calls for Evoqua to provide ongoing service of the equipment and systems.
The Arkansas Regional Lab, a 146,400-square foot facility, was built as part of FDA's plan to reorganize its 18 field laboratories within its Office of Regulatory Affairs. The Arkansas Regional Lab consists of a Director's Office, General Chemistry Branch, Pesticide Chemistry Branch, Veterinary Sciences Branch, Microbiology Branch, Animal Drug Research Center and a Total Diet and Pesticide Research Center.
