캘리포니아 수자원 본부(California Department of Water Resources)는 26개 지역의 물관리 통합 프로젝트에 약 2억3천200만 달러를 자금을 지원할 계획이라고 발표했으며, 이에 지역 및 연방은 추가로 수백만 달러를 활용할 수 있다. 2006년에 물 관련 채권으로 주 전체유권자의 승인을 받은 이 보조금은 캘리포니아의 장기적인 물관리 수요를 충족시키기 위한 지원 사업 프로그램의 일환이다. 

사업 및 프로그램은 안전한 음용수를 제공하는 것을 포함하며, △물재활용의 사용률 향상 △물절약 △홍수 위험도 감소 △유역 보호 △생태계 복원 △수질 보호 △지하수 관리 등이 해당된다.

The California Department of Water Resources today announced approximately $232 million in grant funding of 26 Integrated Regional Water Management projects that will leverage hundreds of millions of dollars in additional local and federal dollars.

The funds are from a 2006 water bond passed by voters statewide that supports projects and programs intended to meet California’s long-term water management needs. Projects and programs include delivery of safe drinking water, enhancement of recycled water use, water conservation, flood risk reduction, watershed protection, ecosystem restoration, protection of water quality, and management of groundwater.

The grants include the following:

·Association of Bay Area Governments, $41.3 million, 10 projects for dam seismic retrofit, groundwater infrastructure, watershed protection and other purposes;

·San Diego County Water Authority, $31.1 million, 14 projects for urban water conservation, turf removal rebate program, water treatment facility and other purposes;

·Los Angeles County Flood Control District, $27.7 million, 26 projects for meter installation, storm water management, water conveyance infrastructure and other purposes;

·Humboldt County, $11 million, 25 projects for water and wastewater conveyance and treatment infrastructure, watershed protection and restoration, agricultural efficiency and other purposes.
