[뉴질랜드] GE 멤브레인으로 식수플랜트 용량 25% 확장

 

뉴질랜드 와이타키(Waitaki) 지자체 위원회는 오아마루(Oamaru) 수처리 플랜트의 용량을 25%까지 확장하는 업그레이드를 완료했다. 오마루 플랜트는 현재 오아마루, 웨스턴(Weston), 엔필드(Enfield), 카카누이(Kakanui) 지역의 거주민 약 1만4천400명에게 물을 공급하고 있으며, 향후 1천여 명 이상의 새 주민들에게도 물을 공급할 계획이다.

플랜트는 현재 GE의 ‘ZeeWeed 1000 R-1’ 멤브레인 기술을 사용하고 있으며, 멤브레인의 수명은 7∼10년간 30%까지 늘어날 것으로 기대된다.

New Zealand upgrades drinking water plant capacity by 25% using GE membranes

 

The Waitaki District Council in New Zealand has upgraded its Oamaru Water Treatment Plant to increase plant capacity by 25%.

 

The plant currently supplies water to 14,400 residents of Oamaru, Weston, Enfield and Kakanui, with plans to connect more than 1,000 new residents in the coming years.

 

The plant now uses ZeeWeed 1000 R-1 membrane technology from GE, which is hoped to increase the lifespan of membranes by 30%, from seven years to 10 years.

 

GE said it would also save an estimated NZ$300,000 in purchase costs when compared with “like for like” replacement as well as NZ$100,000 annually in depreciation and operating costs.

 

The upgrade is part of a broader commitment by the council to provide high-quality drinking water to the growing local population.

 

Waitaki District Mayor Gary Kircher officially re-opened the plant and said: “It is critical that we have a reliable solution to meet our growing needs for years to come, and I’m confident that we have found that with this advanced technology.”
