[미국] 플로리다, 식수프로그램에 1천200만 달러 대출

플로리다 환경보호청은 남부 플로리다 자치단체에 식수 프로젝트를 위한 저금리대출로 약 1천200만 달러를 수여했다. 대출 자금은 지역구 내 식수 안전을 보호하는 프로젝트를 진행하는 자치단체를 지원하는 ‘플로리다주 식수 회전기금 프로그램(DWSRF)’을 통해 수여됐다.

이 프로그램은 공공수도시설 계획·설계·시공 자격이 있는 지자체에 저금리 대출을 제공하는 것으로, 지난 5년간 총62개의 식수향상 프로젝트에 대출된 2억7천300만 달러를 포함해 1998년 처음 적용된 이래로 지금까지 총 9억2천500만 달러의 대출이 승인됐다.

Drinking water projects in Florida funded with $12M from EPA

 

The Florida Department of Environmental Protection has awarded nearly $12 million in low-interest loans to South Florida communities for drinking water projects. Loans were awarded through the Drinking Water State Revolving Fund program, which assists communities with projects that protect the safety of drinking water in their area.

 

The Drinking Water State Revolving Fund Program provides low-interest loans to eligible entities for planning, designing and constructing public water facilities. DWSRF has awarded more than $273 million in funding for 62 drinking water improvement projects during the past five years for a total of $925 million in loan funds since its inception in 1998.

 

One of the benefits of DWSRF loans is that a large part of the loan is forgiven and does not need to be paid back by the community. More than $5 million from some of the projects listed above requires no repayment.
