[Energy Recovery] 아시아 담수화 프로젝트 지원 위한 420만달러 계약 체결

압력에너지 기업인 에너지 리커버리(Energy Recovery)는 아시아·태평양지역에서 담수화 프로젝트를 다각화하기 위한 420만 달러 규모의 기술 공급 계약을 체결했다. 에너지 리커버리는 다양한 해수 RO 플랜트에 적용되는 ‘PX 압력변환기(PX Pressure Exchange)’를 포함한 장치 제품을 공급할 계획이며, 이 제품은 하루 20만㎥까지 물을 생산할 예정이다.
한편, 프로젝트 위치 및 고객은 공개되지 않았다.

Asia desalination projects help Energy Recovery secure $4.2m in new business

Pressure energy company Energy Recovery Inc has won contracts totalling $4.2 million to supply its technology to multiple desalination projects in the Asia Pacific region.
 
Energy Recovery will supply its devices, including its PX Pressure Exchanger, for multiple seawater reverse osmosis plants, which will collectively produce up to 200,000 m3/day.

The project locations or clients were not disclosed by the company.

Energy Recovery estimates its technology will reduce power consumption for the combined projects by 23 MW, saving over 200 GWh of energy per year.

As a result, due to the reduced power requirements, approximately 120,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions can be saved per year when operating at full capacity, the company said.

Joel Gay, president and CEO of Energy Recovery, said: “While Energy Recovery has recently expanded into new markets in upstream oil and gas and downstream gas processing, the water desalination market continues to be a core segment of the business. With significant new investments being made globally in the desalination industry, it is a market where we expect to see further growth and continued Energy Recovery leadership.”
