[케냐] 몸바사, 담수화 프로젝트 제안요청서 발행 예정

새로운 담수화 프로젝트를 추진 중인 케냐의 몸바사 카운티가 이달 안으로 최종 후보자로 오른 5개 기업에 대해 제안요청서(Request for proposals, RFP)를 발행할 예정이다.

현재 BOT 방식을 기반으로 한 두 개의 담수화 프로젝트에 대한 입찰을 실시 중이며, 각각 북부(130,000㎥/일 용량)와 남부(30,000㎥/일 용량)에 건설될 계획이다.

이에 총 9개의 기업이 참여 의향을 드러냈다.

한편, 세계은행(WB)은 케냐 연안수 보전(Coastal Water Security) 및 기후 회복(Climate Resilience) 프로그램의 일환으로 몸바사 카운티의 물 및 위생 서비스 향상 프로젝트를 지원할 계획이다.

이번 담수화 프로젝트는 민·관 파트너십(PPP)을 통해 자금을 조달받을 것으로 예상되며, 몸바사 카운티는 이를 위한 부지 확보에 전념할 것으로 보인다.

Kenya's Mombasa County poised to issue RFP for desalination project

Mombasa County, Keyna, is to issue a request for proposals for new desalination capacity to five shortlisted companies in May 2017.

The county is tendering two desalination projects on a build, operate, transfer (BOT) basis. They are a plant of 130,000 m3/d in the north, and one of 30,000 m3/d in the south.

The plans were outlined by minister for water and natural resources, Fatma Awale, at the Global Water Summit, on 24 April 2017.

A total of nine companies have expressed an interest in working on the project.

The World Bank is supporting improvements to water and sanitation services in Mombasa County through its $200 million Kenya Coastal Water Security and Climate Resilience Program.

The desalination project will be financed through a public-private partnership (PPP), and Mombasa County has committed to help secure land for it.
