스페인 아벤고아(Abengoa)사는 북아프리카 모르코(Morrocco)의 아가디르(Agadir) 지역에서 담수화 및 관개 프로젝트를 개발하기로 최근 계약을 체결했다.

이 프로젝트는 3억9천만 유로에 달하며 국내 및 관개용으로 하루에 담수화된 물의 총 생산 능력이 27만5,000㎥인 담수화 플랜트 건설을 포함한다. 또한 용량을 최대 45만㎥/일까지 확장할 수 있다.

모르코 농림수산식품부(Ministry of Agriculture, Sea Fisheries and Rural Development)의 프로젝트인 ONEE(National de l' Electricitee de l' Eau Potable) 프로젝트는 두 가지 계획을 조합하여 만들어졌다. 

첫 번째 계약은 아벤고아(Abengoa)가 ONEE를 위해 개발 한 계약에 따라 생산 능력을 50% 확장해야하기 때문에 공장 용량을 15만㎥/일의 식수로 늘린다.  두 번째는 12만5,000㎥/일의 관개 용수를 추가로 생산할 것을 요구하고 해당 관개 네트워크를 건설하여 총 13,600ha를 생산할 것을 요구하고 있다.

계약 조건에 명시된 바와 같이 스페인에 본사를 두고 있는 아벤고아(Abengoa)는 27년간 엔지니어링, 건설 및 운영 및 유지 보수를 계속 수행할 계획이다. Abengoa와 모르칸(Moroccan)사 인프라마로크(InfraMaroc)은 투자 파트너가 될 것이며 프로젝트 파이낸싱을 담당하게 된다.

Abengoa signs contract for Morocco desalination plant

Abengoa has signed a contract to develop a desalination and irrigation project in the Agadir region of Morrocco.

The project, valued at €309 million, involves the construction of a desalination plant with a 275,000 m3 total production capacity of desalinated water per day for domestic and irrigation use. It also provides for a possible capacity expansion of up to 450,000 m3/day.

This project for the Office National de l’Electricite et de l’Eau Potable (ONEE), the Ministry of Agriculture, Sea Fisheries and Rural Development and the Ministry of Waters and Forests of Morocco, has been created from the combination of two schemes. The first requires a 50% expansion of production capacity under the contract that Abengoa has been developing for ONEE, thereby increasing plant capacity to 150,000 m3/day of drinking water.

 The second calls for the additional production of 125,000 m3/day of irrigation water as well as the construction of the corresponding irrigation network for a total of 13,600 ha.

As specified in the terms of the original contract, Abengoa, headquartered in Spain, will continue to undertake the engineering, construction and operation and maintenance for a period of 27 years. Abengoa and Moroccan company InfraMaroc will be investment partners and responsible for the project financing.
