[미국] GE, 플로리다 플랜트에 막 여과 멤브레인 설치

GE 워터앤프로세스 테크놀로지스(GE Water & Process Technologies)가 ‘ZeeWeed 1000‘ 초미세여과(ultrafiltration) 멤브레인을 활용하여 미국 플로리다에 위치한 레이크 마나티(Lake Manatee) 정수처리 플랜트를 정비할 계획이다.

현재 마나티 정수처리 플랜트는 처리 공정을 개선 중에 있다. 하루 약 19만7천㎥ 용량의 이 플랜트는 이스트 카운티 웰필드(East County Well Field)의 마나티 저수지와 지하수로부터 지표수를 취수하고 있다.

GE는 기존의 모래 필터 분지에 개장하기에 적합한 2중 스택 디자인으로 12개의 멤브레인 트레인을 공급할 예정이다. 또한 이 프로젝트는 투과 펌핑 비용을 줄이기 위해 부분 사이펀 설계를 채택했다. 이 시스템은 개장한 후 96.3%의 복구율로 작동할 것으로 예상된다.

마나티 카운티는 지표수 처리 트레인의 멀티미디어 필터의 수명이 끝나감에 따라 발전소를 업그레이드하고 있다. 현재 플로리다 당국은 마나티 카운티, 사라소타(Sarasota) 카운티, 팔메토(Palmetto) 및 브랜든톤(Brandenton)시 및 평행사도(barrier islands)에 있는 주민 35만여 명에게 식수를 제공하고 있다.

Lake Manatee Water Treatment Plant in Florida, US, is upgrading its ageing processes.

The 52 million gallons-a-day (197,000 m3/d) plant takes surface water from Lake Manatee reservoir and groundwater from East County Well Field.

GE will supply 12 membrane trains in a two-stack design suitable to be retrofitted into existing sand filter basins. The project also incorporates a partial siphon design to reduce the cost of permeate pumping.

The system is expected to operate at 96.3 per cent recovery following the retrofit.

Manatee County is upgrading the plant because the multimedia filters in its surface water treatment trains are nearing the end of their useful life. The municipality provides drinking water to 350,000 residents of Manatee County, Sarasota County, the cities of Palmetto and Brandenton, and the municipalities on the barrier islands.
