[영국] 글랜 아구아 프란스, 수처리장 개선 사업 완료

 

 

영국 환경기업 글랜 아구아(Glan Agua)와 토목건설회사 프란스 콘스트럭션(Farrans Construction)의 합작투자기업인 글랜 아구아 프란스 JV(GLAN AGUA FARRANS JV)는 어피니티 워터(Affinity Water)가 관리하는 버킹엄셔의 아머샴 수처리장과 하트퍼드셔의 노스무어 수처리장 개선 사업을 완료했다고 지난 13일 밝혔다.

 

수백만 파운드 규모에 달한 이번 개선 사업은 어피니티 워터(Affinity Water)의 기존 인프라에 중요한 업그레이드를 제공하기 위한 것으로 작업은 아머샴 9 ML/D 작업장과 노스무어 18 ML/D 작업장 내에 기존 처리 공장을 보완하는 정교한 탁도 처리 공정 공장을 건설하는 작업이 포함돼 있다.

 

프로젝트는 환경, 생태, 안전 및 이해관계자 제약에 관한 고객의 요구 사항에 따라 건설되었으며 두 발전소 모두 최근 몇 달 동안 가동되었다.

 

닐반스(Neil Barnes) 프란스 영국 지역 시민 담당 이사는 “글랜 아구아와 프란스는 복잡한 프로젝트에 높은 기준을 제공하기 위해 물시장의 적절한 역량을 혼합해 이 프로젝트에 참여했다”라며 “어피니티 워터와 긴밀한 협업을 통해 각지에서 우수한 성과를 거둘 수 있도록 노력할 것”이라고 말했다.

 

닐반스 시민담당 이사에 따르면 현장 외 건설은 모듈식, 컨테이너식 유닛을 사용해 좁은 현장 내에서 도전적인 프로그램을 설계하는 최전선으로 시설의 현대적인 개선 방법은 모든 모듈을 오프사이트에서 제조하는 것과 관련이 있으며, 모든 장비 공급업체는 공급망 파트너의 DfMA 시설로 공급해 조립했다.

 

모듈들은 현장에 공급돼, 플러그 앤 플레이 방식으로 즉시 배치되고 설치되었으며 글랜 아구아 프란스 JV의 공사방식은 현장 자원의 수준을 낮추고 안전 위험을 줄일 수 있었다.

GLAN AGUA FARRANS JV COMPLETES MULTI-MILLION POUND MODIFICATIONS FRAMEWORK

 

Glan Agua Farrans JV (GAF JV) completed works under the Process and Network Modifications Framework for Affinity Water at two existing treatment sites – Amersham in Buckinghamshire and Northmoor in Hertfordshire – in a multi-million-pound contract.

 

GAF JV was awarded two projects in Lot 2 of the framework to provide crucial upgrades to Affinity Water’s existing treatment infrastructure. The works involved the construction of a sophisticated turbidity treatment process plant to supplement the existing treatment plant within the confines of the Amersham 9 ML/D works and Northmoor 18 ML/D works in tight site footprints.

 

The projects were constructed under the requirements of the client regarding the environmental, ecological, safety and stakeholder constraints and both plants were brought into service in recent months.

 

Neil Barnes, Farrans’ regional director for civils in England, said: “Both Glan Agua and Farrans came to this project with the right mix of capabilities in the water market to deliver to a high standard on a complex project. We have worked closely and collaboratively with Affinity Water to achieve an excellent result at each location. Off-site construction was at the forefront of the design, utilising modular and containerised units to deliver the challenging programme within a tight site footprint.

 
The modern method involved all modules being manufactured off-site, with all equipment suppliers delivering to our supply chain partner’s DfMA facility, where they were assembled. The modules were then delivered to the site, placed and installed immediately in a “plug and play” fashion. This methodology reduced the level of on-site resource and helped reduce any safety risks.”

 

Paul Gardner, managing director of Glan Agua UK, said: “We approached this project with a new level of design innovation and utilised a Common Data Environment (BIM 360) to enable input from the multiple international supply chain partners and stakeholders. This ensured an efficient and accurate process. Furthermore, the plants were designed to be decommissioned and potentially reused elsewhere so they are at the forefront of industry sustainability. We are pleased that we have been able to complete these extensive works successfully and on time in the face of the challenges presented by the pandemic by adapting quickly and utilising the agility of both JV partners.”
