[미국] 센트리시스, 뉴욕시 하수처리장 유지보수·수리 지원
8개 처리장 83개 원심분리기 유지보수·수리키로 시 환경보호국과 계약

센트리시스(Centrisys Corp)는 뉴욕시 환경보호국(Department of Environmental Protection)과 관내 하·폐수처리장에 설치된 디캔터 원심분리기의 유지보수 및 수리 작업을 제공하는 계약을 체결했다고 지난 2월 9일 밝혔다. 이번 계약은 상하수도 처리시설 건설·개조에 주력하는 일반 계약업체 제트 인더스트리(Jett Industries Inc)와 협력해 얻은 성과다.

서비스를 받을 대상 처리장은 △Bowery Bay, Upper East River, Queens(CP4-1 원심분리기 4대) △Newton Creek, East River, Brooklyn(BSC3114 농축기 24대) △Oakwood Beach, NYC Bay, Staten Island(CP4-1.1 원심분리기 4대) △Red Hook, East River, Brooklyn(SC3-3 원심분리기 2대) △North River, Hudson, New York(BSC5-2 원심분리기 1대) △26th Ward, Jamaica Bay, Brooklyn(CP4-1 원심분리기 16대) △Wards Island, Upper East River, New York(CS26-4 2PH 원심분리기 16대) △Hunts Point, Upper East River, Bronx(CS26-4 2PH 원심분리기 16대) 등 8개소(83개 원심분리기)다.

뉴욕시 환경보호국은 매일 13억 갤런의 하·폐수를 처리하는 14개소의 하·폐수 자원 회수 시설을 관리한다. 처리 시설은 길이 6천 마일 이상의 하수관, 13만5천개소의 하수 집수지, 495개 이상의 배출구 및 95개의 하·폐수 펌핑 스테이션으로 구성되어 있다. 시에서 발생한 슬러지는 소화되어 바이오가스로 변환되며 남은 고형물은 탈수된다.

Centrisys to maintain and repair 83 centrifuges in New York City

Centrisys Corp has secured a contract with the New York City (NYC) Department of Environmental Protection to provide maintenance and repairs for 83 decanter centrifuges at eight wastewater treatment facility locations.

The Centrisys contract was bid in partnership with Jett Industries Inc, a general contractor focused on constructing and modifying water and wastewater treatment facilities.

The NYC wastewater treatment facility locations covered in Centrisys’ maintenance and repair contract include:

· Bowery Bay, Upper East River, Queens – 4 CP4-1 centrifuges
· Newton Creek, East River, Brooklyn – 24 BSC3114 thickeners
· Oakwood Beach, NYC Bay, Staten Island – 4 CP4-1.1 centrifuges
· Red Hook, East River, Brooklyn – 2 SC3-3 centrifuges
· North River, Hudson, New York – 1 BSC5-2 centrifuge
· 26th Ward, Jamaica Bay, Brooklyn – 16 CP4-1 centrifuges
· Wards Island, Upper East River, New York – 16 CS26-4 2PH centrifuges
· Hunts Point, Upper East River, Bronx – 16 CS26-4 2PH centrifuges

The NYC Department of Environmental Protection manages 14 wastewater resource recovery facilities that treat 1.3 billion gallons of wastewater daily. The treatment system consists of over 6000 miles of sewer pipes, 135 000 sewer catch basins, over 495 permitted outfalls for the discharge of combined sewer overflows, and 95 wastewater pumping stations that transport to the wastewater resource recovery facilities located throughout the city’s five boroughs. New York City’s sludge is digested and transformed to biogas, with the leftover solids dewatered.
