[미국] MWH, NC 수처리 플랜트 확장 및 향상 계약 체결

물과 천연자원 솔루션 제공자인 MWH Global이 수처리 시설의 향상 및 확장 프로젝트를 위한 건설 서비스 제공을 위해 NC와 계약을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 시설은 주변 지역을 위한 식수를 생산하고 Cary and Apex시와 N.C와 합작 협약을 통해 공동 소유, 운영된다.

수 처리 시설은 케이프피어강 유역의 한 부분인 조던호에서 6마일 떨어진 곳에 위치한다. 향상 및 확장 프로젝트는 지역의 인구 성장을 충족시키기 위해 실시된다. 확장이 완공되면 시설의 펌프 용량은 하루 4천만 갤런에서 5천600만 갤런으로 증가하고 현재와 미래의 물 공급 요구를 충족할 수 있다. 

MWH Global, a solutions provider focused on water and natural resources, has been awarded a contract by the town of Cary, N.C., to provide construction services for the Cary/Apex Water Treatment Facility upgrades and expansion project. The facility produces drinking water for the surrounding community and is co-owned and co-operated by the towns of Cary and Apex, N.C., through a joint agreement.

The Cary/Apex Water Treatment Facility is located six miles from Jordan Lake, which is part of the Cape Fear River basin. The upgrade and expansion project is being undertaken to meet the area's growing population. Completed expansion will increase the plant's pumping capacity from 40 million gallons per day (MGD) to 56 MGD, ensuring current and future water supply needs will be met.

The project will include additional treatment units for sediment removal, filtration and ozonization, as well as upgrades to the facility's chemical feed systems. In addition, upgrades will be made to the laboratory and administration buildings. Construction is scheduled for completion in May 2016.
