시카고 수도권 물 재생 지구는 미국 일리노이주 Stickney 물 자원 재생 공장에서 오픈 하우스 투어를 개최했다고 발표했다. 이번 투어는 4월 18일 토요일 오전 10시부터 오후 2시까지 개최한다.

 

오픈 하우스 투어는 전국 유틸리티 인프라를 전시하기 위한 노력의 일환으로 다양한 유틸리티들이 함께 개최되고 있다.

 

또한, 세계 최대 규모의 폐수 처리 공장에서 진행하는 투어로 참가하는 방문객들은 지속적인 환경 개선 사업과 신 재생 에너지 생산을 위한 개발 기술에 대한 많은 관심을 갖게 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.

 

 

The Metropolitan Water Reclamation District (MWRD) of Greater Chicago has announced that it will host tours at its Stickney Water Reclamation Plant, located at 6001 W. Pershing Rd., in the town of Cicero, Ill., on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

 

The open house is being held in conjunction with other utilities from across the country as part of a national effort designed to showcase utility infrastructure.

 

During their time at the world's largest wastewater treatment plant, visitors will learn about ongoing environmental improvement projects and developing technologies for renewable energy generation.

 

The MWRD was created by an Act of the Illinois General Assembly in 1889 to protect Lake Michigan, the source of the region's drinking water.

 

In addition to providing wastewater treatment and stormwater management for Cook County, the MWRD is working to become more sustainable and energy neutral within the next decade.
